Our heart
We're a young, multicultural church family in Scarborough — Filipino-rooted and open to everyone — gathering every Sunday to worship Jesus and do life together. Whatever your background, however long it's been since you walked into a church, there's a seat here with your name on it.
Our focus is simple: God, Family, and Nations. We exist to love God, grow as a family, and carry his love to our city and beyond — co-laboring with him to transform lives, communities, and nations.
We're part of Destiny Ministries International, a church-planting movement based in Los Baños, Philippines, and a registered Canadian charity. You're not joining an institution — you're being welcomed into a family.
What drives us
Everything starts with knowing God as Father — not religion or performance, but a real, daily relationship where you are fully known and fully loved.

We grow as a spiritual family — doing life and faith together, sharing meals, carrying each other’s burdens, and always making room for one more.

We raise and send people to carry God’s love across our city and the nations — because the good news was never meant to stay in one room.

Our story
It started with a handful of university students in Los Baños, Philippines, who gathered to pray and worship — convinced that real change in a nation begins with changed lives. That small fellowship grew into Destiny Ministries International, a movement now planting churches across the nations.
Our pastors, Joseph and Grace Solangon, came out of that same community of young believers and met there in 1992. Their journey of church planting has reached from Los Baños all the way to Toronto — and today it continues here, with a family carrying the same message of grace, faith, and finishing well.
We're led globally by Senior Pastor Paul Yadao and grounded locally in Scarborough, where we gather every Sunday at 3:00 PM ET. Same heart, new city: God, Family, and Nations.

What we believe
We don't have all of life figured out — but these are the things we've staked our lives on. No jargon, no fine print. Just the good news, the way we'd tell a friend.
We believe the Bible — Old and New Testament — is the inspired Word of God: true, trustworthy, and our final authority for what we believe and how we live.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
We believe in one true and living God, eternally Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love.
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.”
We believe Jesus is fully God and fully man — born of a virgin, sinless, crucified and risen — who died and rose to bring us back to God.
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”
We believe salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received by faith in Jesus alone — never earned. Everyone who trusts him is forgiven, made new, and welcomed home.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer and still moves today — giving gifts, healing the sick, and bringing breakthrough as we pray in Jesus’ name.
“Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.”
We believe the Church is God’s family — sons and daughters of one Father — called to love God, grow together, and reflect heaven’s culture of family here on earth.
“You are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household.”
We believe every follower of Jesus is sent — to share the good news, make disciples, and carry God’s love to our city and the nations.
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
We believe Jesus will return in glory to make all things new — so we live with hope, pressing on to finish well until we see him face to face.
“This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Why we exist
DMI Toronto was established for a fourfold purpose — and it still shapes every Sunday: to exalt the Lord, edify believers, evangelize the lost, and enhance our community.
We gather to worship and exalt the Lord with our whole lives.
On a Sunday — Hands raised, a live band, and a room giving God glory together.
“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.”
We build up believers to grow and mature in their faith.
On a Sunday — Practical teaching from the Bible, Life Groups, and growing together.
“…to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.”
We share the good news and reach the lost with hope.
On a Sunday — Real stories of changed lives — and an open seat for the friend you bring.

We serve and enrich our community in Scarborough and beyond.
On a Sunday — Outreach, a shared meal, and blessing the city we call home.

What makes us, us
We eat together. Most Sundays end with a shared meal and a lot of laughter — because we’re convinced the gospel is best understood around a table, not just from a stage.
We actually pray for the sick and expect God to move. Worship, prophetic encouragement, and breakthrough aren’t extras here — they’re how we live.

We’re a young church in one of the most diverse corners of Canada, raising up the next generation and sending them out. There’s room to lead long before you have it all figured out.

We don’t have an audience — we have a family on mission. From the band to the welcome desk to the kids’ room, there’s a place for your gifts, with a team beside you and no experience required.

Head Pastor
Joseph comes from a generation of evangelical pastors and church planters. He recommitted his life to the Lord at the University of the Philippines Los Baños through a group of believers called UP Students for Christ. He holds a Master's in Theological Studies from Tyndale University and is pursuing a Doctorate in Theology at Global Awakening Theological Seminary.
Co-Lead Pastor
Grace met Joseph in 1992 at UPLB as members of UP Students for Christ. She has served on church-planting teams from Los Baños to Toronto and carries a message of God's grace and faith. She loves to pray for the sick and believes nothing is impossible for those who believe in God.
Senior Pastor — Destiny Ministries International
Paul carries a message of intimacy with the Father and a culture of family that reflects heaven. He is passionate about equipping and empowering leaders to live out their calling, and has ministered across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. He and his wife Ahlmira co-lead Destiny Ministries International, a movement based in Los Baños, Philippines.
Elder & Treasurer
Gloria serves on the board of DMI Toronto as the church's treasurer. She carries a message of accountability, stewardship, and generosity, believing that as sons and daughters of God we are called to reflect our generous Heavenly Father.
